June Meeting Recap:

We again discussed meeting locations. This month's meeting was at the Monon Center, but will return to the VFW next month.

New Business

1. Kevin Burns has verified that we will have the Fort Harrison VFW until the end of the year for meeting purposes. As we get close to the end of our time there, we will discuss the possibility of locking down that location with the post commander as a permanent home. One of the things that would make the VFW attractive is that the kitchen will open in August, so we can have food and beverages during the meeting. Some of the members have ordered food and quite like the cooking.

2. Michael Kalbfleisch did a presentation on macro photography at the meeting.

3. Andy Leffler had a contest committee meeting in July, to get some preliminary planning done. Andy will provide a briefing at the next meeting, and talk about when the next meeting would be.

4. Wunji Lau will talk about the rules for the John Brown Group build planned for the end of the year. The idea is to complete his unfinished models.

5. We are paid up with Raymond Park Middle School for our 2018 contest.

6. Speaking of the contest, RPMS's schedule will be available soon, so we can start to plan and lock down a date for the 2019 contest. A possible theme is the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1.

Upcoming area contests:

For September, there will be some events within a few hour's drive:

There are also going to be several airshows within a few mile's drive in August!

Show and Tell:

The club was unusually prolific in terms of output this month, considering that this was the middle of summer.

Remember that the August meeting will be at the Fort Harrison VFW 7119, at 6525 Lee Road, Indianapolis, IN 46236, from 7pm to 9pm. The kitchen will be open. Please come to the meeting, enjoy the company, and have a nice, hot meal.
